Overview
Honors in the Major offers highly motivated undergraduate students the opportunity to undertake a significant independent research or creative project with the guidance of a faculty committee. The program is designed for students who wish to deepen their engagement with a topic, explore original ideas, and produce work that reflects advanced scholarship or creative practice within the moving image arts. At the College of Motion Picture Arts, Honors projects have included screenplays, documentaries, animation development, critical research, and other forms of creative inquiry.
Over the course of their final three semesters, students complete six supplemental credit hours dedicated to the development and completion of their Honors project. Students who successfully complete the program graduate “With Honors,” a distinction recognized on their official transcript.
